At MTK, we decided to tackle this by looking back at the finest Italian woodworking traditions and combining them with modern thermal engineering.

Our new SVD Ventilated Handguard is not just a replacement part; it’s a significant upgrade for your rifle. Proudly Made in Italy, each kit is carved from premium Grade 1+/2 Walnut.
We chose a natural oil finish for a specific reason: unlike synthetic coatings, oil allows the wood to “breathe” and provides a superior, non-slip grip that only improves with age and use. The deep grain of the walnut adds a level of sophistication that plastic or railed handguards simply cannot match.
Solving the Thermal Stress Challenge
One of the primary issues during intensive shooting sessions with the SVD platform is heat buildup. A hot barrel doesn’t just affect accuracy; it creates thermal stress that can damage traditional wooden handguards over time.
Our engineers integrated a strategic ventilation system into the design. These precision-cut slots serve two purposes:
- Heat Dissipation: They allow air to circulate around the barrel, significantly reducing cooling times.
- Structural Integrity: The layout is optimized to maintain the handguard’s strength while shediding unnecessary weight.
Compatibility and The Art of “Fitting”
This kit is fully compatible with both SVD and Tigr variants. However, because we work with natural, solid wood—a material that lives and reacts to its environment—and because military receiver tolerances can vary slightly, a small amount of hand-fitting may be required.
Think of it as the final touch of a tailor: a few minor adjustments with a fine file or sandpaper will ensure a rock-solid, custom fit that eliminates any wobble, making the rifle feel like an extension of your body.

This stock was inspired by a late ’70 USSR project, which was never put in to mass production due to its high manufacturing cost.
According to our information, only few experimental stocks were produced and issued to top elite units for testing.
We combined the original project with our jewel, the folding mechanism.
The result is the ONLY SVD fully adjustable wooden folding stock on the market!
Made from selected walnut and coated with natural oil following centuries of firearms tradition.
It’s compatible with any TIGR, SVD and SVD clones.
No modification to the actual firearm is required, you just swap the stock!

The walnut gun stock care oil kit is designed for firearm enthusiasts seeking a natural and effective solution to preserve and protect the wood of their firearms.
The 100% natural formula is specially crafted to provide lasting protection against weathering and daily wear.

- Natural Formula: Crafted entirely from natural ingredients, our oil offers an eco-friendly solution for wood stock care. It shields wood from moisture, dust, and other environmental elements.

Usage Instructions:
- Clean the wood the cloth. Pour a few drops on a finger and spread it evenly on the wood.

- After application, leave to dry for 20 to 40 minutes (depending on the temperature) and then wipe lightly with a cloth.
- Wait at least 24 hours and polish with 0000 pad.
- Treatment is advisable at least every 4/8 months depending on the degree of use.
- Do not swallow and keep away from children.
